Beauty and the Beast Inspired Rose Diy
First off I want to say all of this stuff (except the paint) I got from the dollar store.
Things you’ll need
• Fake flowers
• Circle styrofoam
• Exacto knife
First I started by tracing the vase on the styrofoam and cutting it with an exacto knife. For cutting it out you might need to go over it a couple of times and then just pop it out.
After that I painted it with a mix of white, brown, yellow, and this kind of metallic gold. You don’t have to paint it this color but I chose these since I think I’d look more like the one in the movie.
Then I cut off a rose from the bunch that I got and started to paint it with the metallic gold that I used while painting the styrofoam. For painting it I started with the outside petals and worked my way in, while also painting not only the inside of the petal but the outside too. This is optional but it makes the rose sparkly so I chose to do it.
I forgot to mention this but I did paint the bottom of the styrofoam circle black.
While I’m waiting for this to dry I guess I’ll just tell you some random facts!
1. Early artists relied on easily available natural substances to make paint, such as natural earth pigments, charcoal, berry juice, lard, blood, and milkweed sap. Yes that’s right I said blood!
2. It is believed that Shakespeare was 46 around the time that the King James Version of the Bible was written. In Psalms 46, the 46th word from the first word is shake and the 46th word from the last word is spear.
3. The sound of E.T. walking was made by someone squishing her hands in jelly
4. Police dogs are trained to react to commands in a foreign language; commonly German but more recently Hungarian.
Now that that’s dry I then used the rose to poke a hole about halfway through the styrofoam, then to attach the rose I just put a little hot glue in the hole and put the rose in.
Now all left to do is push the vase over the styrofoam. I put some hot glue around the circle just to make sure it stays in place and the boom you have your own beauty and the beast rose!
